Girls and what recomendation will be according extending the vocabulary? Sometimes I find my English too primitive... Learning new words is the only way for me...Because while reading books I understand everything but when I need to talk I always use the same words, not new ones...

I usually listen to the songs in English, still they are very primitive , read E. magazines and articles, listen to E. channels.to tell you the truth, I cannot say that I have enlarged my active vocabulary as I am a bit lazy in this, and still everyday speaking practice plays a very important role

PS I'b better practice German now, but still have neither time, nor possibility

there are no native speakers near me and my friend`s English is on the same level...what a pity

Once I switched on Deutsche Welle on TV and watched it with my mouth open. My husband asked me what they were speaking about, but I said "I don't understand... but I adore German" In German I understand most of the words but cannot make the whole sentence in my head

German grammar is a bad dream for me And when I have started to learn it my mother said - it`s the easiest language ever, it`s so easy to read in German... She didn`t mention its grammar She never studied English and she can`t understand how can I read in it at all, it`s so hard

I think for beginners or those people who try to remember language the main is - GRAMMAR.

Anutka, I would strongly doubt it. As a foreign language tutor I noticed that whenever one tries to begin learning a language with learning grammar - he/she will have troubles with fluent speech.
If students think about grammar, structure of the sentences, they will be afraid of making mistakes.
In modern language teaching we start with learning how to TALK, the grammar is optional and is accepted unintentionally. I try not to teach students grammar, but to make them feel the language, then they speak-write correctly
